Recognizes Deputy Chris Rogers of the Talladega County Sheriff's Office as a nominee for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On May 12, 2017, Deputy Rogers responded to a domestic violence call on Airport Road in Oxford and encountered an armed suspect pointing a gun at a victim inside the residence.

After the suspect ignored verbal commands to drop his weapon and continued making threats to shoot the victim, Deputy Rogers fired his service weapon, ultimately disabling the suspect.

Deputy Rogers' bravery and quick action saved lives and exceeded the expectations of his duties as a deputy.

The Alabama Legislature directs that Deputy Rogers receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of their admiration and esteem.
