Recognizes Officer Kris Roney of the Scottsboro Police Department as a nominee for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On August 10, 2017, Officer Roney rescued Jennifer Nicole Brownfield, age 39, from a burning vehicle that had crashed at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road by climbing through the vehicle's broken sunroof and pulling her to safety.

Officer Roney placed himself in life-threatening danger by entering the flame-engulfed, partially overturned vehicle while Lieutenant McGhee used a fire extinguisher to ward off the fire and search for other occupants.

Officer Roney received the Scottsboro Police Department Life Saving Certificate for his meritorious actions and demonstrated extraordinary courage, diligence, and quick response in a life-threatening situation.

The resolution was adopted by the House on March 6, 2018 and by the Senate on March 13, 2018.
