• Recognizes and honors Lieutenant Greg McGhee and Officer Kris Roney of the Scottsboro Police Department as nominees for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

• On August 10, 2017, at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road, McGhee and Roney responded to a burning vehicle that had crashed and partially overturned while they were effecting a felony robbery arrest.

• Officer Roney climbed into the overturned vehicle through the broken sunroof, located driver Jennifer Nicole Brownfield, and pulled her to safety while Lieutenant McGhee used a fire extinguisher to ward off flames and searched for additional occupants.

• Both officers received the Scottsboro Police Department Life Saving Certificate for their meritorious actions in the life-threatening situation.
