Recognizes Lieutenant Colonel James Michael Sprayberry on receiving the Medal of Honor in 1969, awarded by President Richard Nixon.

Sprayberry, reared in Sylacauga, Alabama, joined the Army in Montgomery in 1967 and served as a first lieutenant in Company D, 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam.

In 1968, Sprayberry led a nighttime patrol to rescue wounded soldiers, personally destroyed several enemy bunkers and machine gun emplacements, eliminated 12 enemy soldiers, and directed isolated men to safety.

Continued serving until retirement in 1988 and is commended by the Alabama Legislature for his valorous service and selfless actions.
