Commends Trooper Chad Nalls of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency as a nominee for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On November 17, 2017, Trooper Nalls responded to a reckless driver call and assisted Officer Blalock of the Jemison Police Department in apprehending a missing, suicidal subject in Chilton County who was pointing a loaded handgun at his own head.

Trooper Nalls quickly grabbed the weapon, turned it away from the subject's head and bystanders, and secured the subject on the ground while clearing a live round from the chamber with no injuries to any person involved.

The Legislature recognizes Trooper Nalls' extraordinary courage, exceptional heroism, and unwavering commitment to protect and serve residents, directing that he receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the state's admiration and esteem.
