Commends Mrs. Sylvia Oakes for 40 years of dedicated service to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) as an Urban Regional Extension Agent, retiring January 1, 2018.

Recognized her educational outreach programs delivered on behalf of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University, including Diet Our Thing, Today's MOM, SPACE Program, and Successful Aging Initiative.

Highlighted her role in implementing a federal reading program for Lawrence County Public School System elementary students and her service as interim Madison County Extension Coordinator.

Acknowledged her contributions to nutrition education, diabetes awareness programs at national and international levels, 4-H youth development, and cofounder status of Urban Youth Farm Day.
