Mourns the death of Mrs. Mattie Johns Howze, a lifelong resident of Lower Peach Tree, Alabama, who died on November 27, 2017.

Celebrates her life achievements including earning a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Elementary Education from Alabama State University and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Wayne State University.

Recognizes her 23 years of service as an elementary school teacher for the Detroit Board of Education and her 15 years as a faithful missionary church member.

Lists her survivors including daughter Millicent Howze-Simmons, son Ryan Troy Howze, grandsons Blair Simmons and Da'Ryan Howze, and sister-in-law Viola Howze-Jordan.
