Mourns the death of Mr. William Jessie Wheat of Chatom, Alabama, who died January 6, 2018, at age 84.

Honors his 4 years of military service in the United States Navy and 32 years serving as Washington County Sheriff.

Recognizes his community service as town marshal, Chief of Police of Chatom, charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and Chief Deputy of the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Acknowledges surviving family members including his wife of 60 years, Claudia Louise Wheat, three children, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

House adopted the resolution on January 23, 2018, and Senate adopted it on January 30, 2018.
