Commends Officer Kris Roney of the Scottsboro Police Department for receiving the Life Saving Certificate for heroic actions on August 10, 2017.

Officer Roney rescued Jennifer Nicole Brownfield, 39, from a burning vehicle that had crashed into an embankment and partially overturned at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road.

While effecting a felony robbery arrest, Officer Roney climbed through the vehicle's broken sunroof, located the driver, and pulled her to safety as Lieutenant McGhee used a fire extinguisher to ward off flames.

Recognizes Officer Roney's courage, diligence, quick response, and commitment to protecting Scottsboro residents by placing himself in a life-threatening situation to save another's life.

Alabama Legislature directs that Officer Roney receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of admiration and esteem for his meritorious actions.
