Designates Alabama Highway 48 from the intersection of Randolph County Road 56 to the Georgia state line as the Vern Gosdin Highway in honor of the late country music artist.

Vern Gosdin was born August 5, 1934, in Woodland, Alabama, and died April 28, 2009, in Nashville, Tennessee.

His song "Chiseled in Stone" won the Country Music Association Song of the Year award in 1989; other notable hits included "I Can Tell by the Way You Dance," "I'm Still Crazy," and "Set 'em Up, Joe."

Requests that appropriate officials place and maintain signs designating the highway with Vern Gosdin's name.
