Commends Edwin Banks on receiving the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, the most prestigious award issued by the Federal Aviation Administration to pilots certified under Title 14 CFR part 61.

Banks, a native of Boldo, Alabama, first flew in 1948 at age 16 and obtained his Private Pilot Rating in 1964 and Multi-Engine Rating in 1966.

Served as a United States Army photographer from 1953 to 1956, with photos published in Army Times, The Stars and Stripes, and newspapers across the country.

Throughout his career, flew for multiple companies including Falcon Aviation, Montgomery Aviation, and the Drummond Company where he retired as Chief Pilot, with specialized ratings in aircraft including King Air 100/200, Lear 24/25, and Gulf Stream 2.

Served as Walker County Engineering Assistant at Walker County Airport Bevill Field for eight years and has a passion for building and restoring aircraft.
