Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women of childbearing age in the United States and is a leading cause of female infertility with an average 10-year delay from symptom onset to diagnosis.

Women with endometriosis lose 11 hours per work week due to lost productivity and absenteeism, with 51 percent reporting the disease detrimentally affects their job; estimated annual societal burden is $56 billion or $10,824 per patient.

Encourages the state to observe the month with related awareness and educational campaigns.

Encourages the Alabama Department of Public Health to make available online resources and current information on endometriosis.
