Recognizes 41 ambassadors from the Huntsville City School System who represented Alabama at the 1988 XV Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada on February 13, 1988

Delegation consisted of 30 fourth and fifth grade students and 11 chaperones, organized by Superintendent Dr. Mary Jane Caylor and Doris McHugh, Supervisor of Physical Education

Students served as official Alabama ambassadors at the opening ceremony in McMahon Stadium and witnessed the parade of 59 countries, Olympic torch lighting, and various Olympic competitions and award ceremonies

CF Flag Company in Huntsville designed the 59 flags carried by all participating nations in the parade of nations

Commends the delegation for their historic participation and emphasizes that elementary school children as state ambassadors reflected Alabama's educational excellence and the value of youth participation in international events
