Commends Lawrence County High School for participation in the Global Classroom STEAM Challenge, a Samsung Electronics America initiative bringing together teachers and students from five countries at the United Nations in New York City.

Lawrence County High School partnered with international schools from Brazil, China, Korea, and Tunisia over a 10-week period to develop solutions addressing economic, environmental, and social issues in their respective communities.

Students used STEAM skills (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and a virtual classroom platform developed by IVECA to collaborate with international partners and develop presentations aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Recognizes 14 participating students (James Huang, Erica McKelvey, Brady Cross, Alonzo Castro, Amelia Martines, Lauryn Robinson, Patti Ann Smith, Savannah Graham, Lauren Mayes, Thomas McCullough, Jacob Pearson, Paul Logston, Caleb Wilson, and Maggie Shelton) and two teachers (BeLinda Cross and Amy Speegle).

The Alabama House of Representatives highly commends Lawrence County High School and the Global Classroom STEAM Challenge team for their outstanding achievement.
