• Commends the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida for their leadership and advocacy efforts following the February 14, 2018 shooting that killed 17 students and employees.

• Recognizes student efforts to demand lawmakers take immediate action to prevent future school shootings through tighter gun regulations and addressing related mental health issues.

• Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the President of the United States, majority and minority leaders of both chambers of Congress, and Alabama's Congressional Delegation to communicate the Legislature's deep concerns about school gun violence.

• Directs a copy of the resolution be provided to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to demonstrate the Alabama Legislature's concern and support for student efforts to make schools safe.
