Recognizes Lieutenant Greg McGhee of the Scottsboro Police Department as a nominee for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On August 10, 2017, at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road, Lieutenant McGhee responded to a vehicle crash and fire while effecting a felony robbery arrest, using a fire extinguisher to ward off flames and search for occupants.

Lieutenant McGhee and Officer Kris Roney rescued driver Jennifer Nicole Brownfield, 39, from the burning vehicle despite the life-threatening conditions and risk of explosion.

Lieutenant McGhee received the Scottsboro Police Department Life Saving Certificate for his meritorious actions and demonstrated courage, diligence, and quick response in the emergency situation.

The House of Representatives directs that Lieutenant McGhee receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
