Commends Deputy Chris Rogers of the Talladega County Sheriff's Office as a nominee for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On May 12, 2017, Deputy Rogers responded to a domestic violence call on Airport Road in Oxford and found an armed suspect waving a gun and pointing it at the victim.

Deputy Rogers fired his service weapon after the suspect pointed the gun at the victim despite verbal commands to drop the weapon, ultimately disabling the suspect and saving lives.

Recognizes Deputy Rogers' bravery, quick action, and split-second decision-making that exceeded expectations and made a positive impact.

Directs that Deputy Rogers receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the House of Representatives' admiration and esteem.
