Recognizes Deputy Joseph Wordell of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and his K-9 partner Diesel as nominees for the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

In 2017, Deputy Wordell and Diesel were deployed 24 times for fleeing suspects and located 13 of those suspects, and deployed 31 times for narcotics searches with successful drug seizures 24 times.

Deputy Wordell and Diesel discovered materials used for making a pipe bomb in a house and recovered an explosive device during 2017 operations.

Honors the deputy and K-9 for demonstrating immense courage, diligence, and quick response in life-threatening situations while protecting Jefferson County residents.

Directs that Deputy Joseph Wordell and Diesel receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the House's admiration and esteem.
