Commends Deputies Andy Reed, Hayden Clements, and Tyler Cline of the Etowah County Sheriff's Office as recipients of the 2018 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

Recognizes the deputies' actions on May 26, 2017, when they responded to a fire set by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees in Unit 3 of the Etowah County Detention Center in Gadsden, Alabama.

Credits the three deputies with entering a maximum security housing unit filled with smoke and dangerous inmates despite being outnumbered three to one, evacuating all persons to safety and saving 22 lives.

Notes the detainees involved were violent offenders from Iraq, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nigeria, and Mali who were plotting an alleged escape attempt and being deported to their native countries.

Directs that the deputies receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the Alabama House of Representatives' admiration and esteem for their courage and devotion to duty.
