Spain Park Girls Varsity Basketball Team won the 2018 AHSAA Class 7A State Championship with a 56-26 victory over McGill-Toolen, marking the school's first girls' basketball state title.

Commended players include Claire Holt, Barrett Herring, Christen Rushing, Maddison McDonald, Ahrielle Parks, Bailey Bowers, Sarah Ashlee Barker, Katelyn Walsh, Caroline Keith, Avery Masdon, Camille Chase, and Mackenzie Culpepper.

Coaching staff recognized include Head Coach Mike Chase, Assistant Coaches Patrick Beverly and Brooks Dunn, and Athletic Trainer Sara Lynch.

House of Representatives honors and commends the team for their determination, heart, and effort that inspire their community and reflect credit upon the State of Alabama.
