Recognizes Laura H. Tate as Alabama's 2017-2018 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators (AAESA).

Tate has served as an educator for 17 years, with 2.5 years as an Assistant Principal at Edgewood Elementary School, where she established a monthly professional learning rotation program adopted as a best practice by other district schools.

Tate implemented a research-based positive behavior support program that enhanced school climate and culture, and holds a Bachelor's Degree from Jacksonville State University, a Master's Degree, and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Tate will represent Alabama in the National Association of Elementary School Principals National Assistant Principal of the Year Program.

The House of Representatives honors and commends Tate for her significant contributions to education.
