Nicholas Carlisle, an eighth-grade student at Berry Middle School in Hoover, Alabama, received a 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Carlisle sold more than 600 wreaths for veterans' graves and raised more than $3,000 toward his school's fund for students in need.

He solicited $15 sponsorships from friends, family, and local businesses for each grave wreath, with Wreaths Across America donating $5 back from each wreath to Berry Middle School's hope chest for student essentials.

The House of Representatives congratulates and honors Carlisle for his outstanding volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit, and extends best wishes for his continued success.
