Mourns the death of Dr. Robert Lawson Green of Daphne, Alabama, who died at age 78; born September 26, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Received his Doctor of Medicine in 1967 from the Medical College of Alabama (now UAB School of Medicine) and completed neurology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, serving as Army major and chief of neurology at Madigan General Hospital.

Became Mobile's first neurologist in 1973 and co-founded the paramedic program; served as fire surgeon with Mobile Fire Department, deputy police surgeon with Mobile Police Department, and medical director for the Emergency Management Agency.

Established electroencephalography and electro diagnostic labs in several hospitals; served as director of head injury unit at Rotary Rehab and coordinator for loss prevention program at Mobile Infirmary; held positions at Providence Hospital and Springhill Memorial Hospital.

Survived by his wife of 59 years Peggy Hinkle Green; two daughters; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and various siblings and extended family members.
