Commends Lieutenant Greg McGhee of the Scottsboro Police Department for receiving the Life Saving Certificate for his heroic actions on August 10, 2017.

Lieutenant McGhee and Officer Kris Roney responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 72 and Snodgrass Road where a car was engulfed in flames and partially overturned.

While Lieutenant McGhee used a fire extinguisher to suppress the flames, Officer Roney rescued the driver, Jennifer Nicole Brownfield, 39, by climbing through the broken sunroof and pulling her to safety.

The resolution recognizes Lieutenant McGhee's courage, quick response, and commitment to protecting the residents of Scottsboro by placing himself in a life-threatening situation to save another person's life.

Directs that Lieutenant McGhee receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the Alabama House of Representatives' admiration and esteem for his actions.
