HR 62 - Memorial Resolution for William Jessie Wheat

• Mourns the death of Mr. William Jessie Wheat of Chatom, Alabama, who died on January 6, 2018, at age 84.

• Honors his 4 years of service in the United States Navy and his 32 years of service as Washington County Sheriff, along with his service as town marshal and Chief of Police of Chatom.

• Recognizes him as a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police and valued community member.

• Survived by his wife of 60 years, Claudia Louise Wheat; three children; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

• Expresses the Alabama House of Representatives' gratitude for his life and offers this resolution as tribute to his legacy and sympathy to his family and friends.
