The Arc of Madison County, established in 1952, is honored for exceptional service to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The organization serves over 400 individuals annually through programs including early intervention for 80+ infants and toddlers, school transition services for 140+ youth, and Project Search internship programs.

The Arc of Madison County was selected as one of 10 programs nationwide to participate in a National Provider Transformation Network Project through the University of Massachusetts Boston and the Arc of the United States.

The organization has received multiple awards including the 2017 AL-APSE Agency of the Year, 2015 Alabama Developmental Disability Agency of Distinction Award, and was selected as a pilot program for the Department of Mental Health's Office of Disability Employment Policy grant.

The House of Representatives formally honors and commends the Arc of Madison County for its dedication to advancing the needs of individuals with disabilities.
