Amends Section 16-24C-11 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to apply employment termination notice requirements exclusively to public K-12 teachers, removing postsecondary education employees from the requirements.

Maintains the prohibition on tenured K-12 teachers terminating employment within 30 calendar days before the first day of the next school term for students unless mutually agreed upon.

Increases the notice requirement for K-12 teachers terminating employment at any other time from 5 days to 30 days' written notice to the employing board of education.

Establishes that K-12 teachers violating this section are guilty of unprofessional conduct and subjects them to certificate revocation or suspension by the State Superintendent of Education.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
