SB146 Summary

• Amends Section 35-8B-3 of the Alabama Code to allow off-premises sales of alcoholic beverages in community development districts formed under Section 35-8B-1(h), subject to board of control approval.

• Off-premises consumption sales are authorized only in districts formed under Section 35-8B-1(h) where the majority board of control approves seven-day-a-week alcohol sales and licensees hold appropriate Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board licenses.

• Maintains existing requirements for on-premises consumption in other district types, including club licensing rules and membership application approvals.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
