AL SB151

Amends Section 13A-10-15 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to expand the definition of terrorist threats to include threats against churches, synagogues, mosques, other religious real property, and public or private schools.

Defines "threaten" to require an intentional and knowing statement made verbally, in writing, or electronically that is unequivocal, unconditional, immediate, and specific, causing the threatened person to reasonably fear for their safety.

Expands the definition of "property" to specifically include religious buildings and schools as protected targets under the terrorist threat statute.

Maintains the classification of making a terrorist threat as a Class C felony.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
