SB22 Summary

• Amends Section 16-22-15 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify personnel vacancy posting requirements for local boards of education.

• Requires vacancy notices to be posted on the board website at a minimum, or alternatively in a conspicuous place at each school campus and worksite.

• Reduces the required posting period from 14 calendar days to 7 calendar days before a position is to be filled.

• Maintains the 14-calendar-day posting requirement for supervisory, managerial, or newly created positions, and for vacancies occurring during school sessions when schools are in session.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
