SB266 Summary

• Amends Section 40-23-5 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to add the Alabama Wildlife Center to the list of organizations exempt from state, county, and municipal sales and use taxes.

• The Alabama Wildlife Center joins other exempt organizations including the Birmingham Zoo, rescue service organizations, Goodwill Industries, veteran organizations, and various nonprofits listed in existing exemption statutes.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
