• Prohibits elected state officials from placing their likeness on materials, publications, or advertising media produced using appropriated federal, state, or local funds, unless prohibited by federal law.

• Defines "likeness" as any representation, picture, or image of an elected state official.

• Defines "advertising media" to include radio, television, newspapers, magazines, and Internet communications used to reach, inform, educate, or influence people widely.

• Applies to any person elected to public office at state, county, or municipal government levels, as well as chairs and vice-chairs of state political parties.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
