Retailers selling goods at retail in Alabama must conspicuously display their refund policy on printed sales receipts.

Refund policies must include whether exchanges, store credit, or cash refunds are offered.

Policies must specify any limitations or restrictions on types of goods that may not be exchanged or refunded.

Policies must state the applicable time period for exchanges, store credit, or cash refunds, and any other conditions governing returns.

Retailers violating this requirement are liable to consumers for the full purchase amount if the consumer returns or attempts to return goods within 30 days of purchase.
