SB72 Summary

• Continues the existence and functioning of the Alabama Sickle Cell Oversight and Regulatory Commission until October 1, 2022, pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.

• Preserves Sections 22-10B-1 to 22-10B-7 of the Code of Alabama 1975, which established and govern the Commission.

• Adopts the Sunset Committee's recommendation to continue rather than terminate or modify the agency after its periodic review.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and Governor approval or otherwise becoming law.
