Designates January 18, 2018, as National Board Certified Teacher Day in Alabama.

Acknowledges National Board Certification as the standard for teacher expertise and skill, offered in 25 areas spanning 16 disciplines from Pre-K through 12th grade.

Recognizes that more than 112,000 teachers nationwide have fulfilled the rigorous requirements of National Board Certification.

States that National Board Certification requires teachers to demonstrate standards-based evidence of positive impact on student learning aligned with the Five Core Propositions.

Passed by the Alabama Legislature with Senate adoption on January 23, 2018, and House adoption on January 30, 2018.
