Encourages state-supported institutions of higher education and community and technical colleges in Alabama to waive out-of-state tuition for dependents of Alabama disabled veterans affected by Act 2017-349.

Act 2017-349 (2017 Regular Session) previously amended the Alabama G.I. and Dependents' Educational Benefit Act to require out-of-state tuition payments for affected dependents living outside Alabama, reversing prior free tuition benefits.

Authorizes Section 31-6-15 of the Code of Alabama 1975 permits institutions to waive tuition, fees, and books not covered by federal, state, and third-party funds.

Requires each institution and college that waives out-of-state tuition to notify the Chair of the Senate Finance and Taxation Education Committee, the Chair of the House Ways and Means Education Committee, and the Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs of their intent.

Senate adopted March 13, 2018; House adopted March 20, 2018.
