Montgomery County Commission members may receive an additional monthly expense allowance of up to $500 per month upon approval by the commission through a recorded roll call vote, paid from the county general fund.

The expense allowance is in addition to all other compensation, salary, and expense allowances provided by law.

Upon the next term of office following approval of the expense allowance, the salary of commission members shall be increased by the amount of the approved allowance and the expense allowance provision becomes null and void.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
