• Director and employees of the Clay County Community Corrections Program are designated as state law enforcement officers with arrest powers, provided they hold current Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission certification.

• Arrest authority is limited to investigations of criminal acts committed at program facilities and acts by supervised individuals that violate supervision conditions or constitute criminal offenses.

• Program director or employees may arrest supervised persons with probable cause of criminal offense or supervision violation and must prepare written warrant for arrest without warrant, sufficient to bring offender before court for probable cause determination.

• Court may order detention pending hearing and may revoke probation or community corrections program participation pursuant to Section 15-18-175(3), Code of Alabama 1975.

• Personnel given arrest powers must comply with minimum standards for state law enforcement officers; act becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval.
