HB35 Summary

• Allows licensed pharmacists and physicians to enter into collaborative practice agreements subject to approval by both the Board of Pharmacy and State Board of Medical Examiners.

• Requires agreements and amendments to be submitted to both boards within 10 days of signing and become effective only after board approval.

• Each board must adopt implementing rules by October 1, 2019, and agreements cannot be approved until both boards have rules in effect.

• Sets maximum participation fees at $300 for physicians (collected by State Board of Medical Examiners) and $300 for pharmacists (collected by Board of Pharmacy).

• Does not restrict pharmacists employed by licensed health care facilities from executing approved medical protocols within those facilities.
