Removes the religious exemption from Alabama's school immunization requirements for children in public and private K-12 schools.

Retains the medical exemption allowing parents to obtain certification from a competent medical authority for individual medical reasons.

Eliminates the existing provision that allowed parents to object in writing to immunizations based on religious tenets and practices, even during non-epidemic periods.

Establishes legislative findings that communicable diseases pose an immediate public health crisis and that all medically able students should receive vaccinations for dangerous communicable diseases.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
