AL HB604

Applies only to Marshall County and regulates the Sheriff's office spending during the final year of any term, from the end of the primary election until the newly elected sheriff takes office in January.

Limits monthly expenditures to one-twelfth of the annual budgeted or appropriated amount unless approved by the Marshall County Commission or during a declared state of emergency.

Prohibits the Sheriff from disposing of any equipment belonging to the Office of Sheriff of Marshall County without approval from the Marshall County Commission during this period.

Makes any Sheriff who willfully violates this act personally liable to Marshall County for the amount of unauthorized expenditures.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
