HB91 Summary

• Requires each state occupational licensing board, agency, and commission to establish and maintain a recruitment and assistance program by rule to encourage new licensees and assist applicants in obtaining licensure.

• Existing occupational licensing boards must develop their programs by January 1, 2020, while boards created after that date must develop programs within one year of their organizational meeting.

• Programs must encourage recruitment and provide assistance at all levels of licensure under the jurisdiction of each occupational licensing board.

• Amends the Sunset Committee review process to require agencies under review to provide an accurate measure of the effectiveness of their recruitment and assistance programs.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
