Recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch on July 16, 1969, and Alabama's role in the mission's success.

Acknowledges that nearly a decade of research, design, testing, and manufacturing of advanced propulsion systems for Apollo 11 occurred in Huntsville, Alabama, led by Dr. Wernher von Braun and aerospace contractors.

Notes that Apollo 11's launch established Huntsville as a leading technology city, resulting in hundreds of aerospace companies locating there and providing thousands of jobs.

Recognizes community events being hosted by Huntsville/Madison County to honor the anniversary, including an attempt to break a Guinness World Record with 5,000 simultaneous rocket launches, a vintage car show featuring a fully functioning Lunar Roving Vehicle, and a homecoming for former NASA employees and Apollo program contractors.

States the "Apollo: When We Went to the Moon" program will be presented in Huntsville throughout 2019 to coincide with Alabama's Bicentennial.
