Commends Mrs. Connie Spears for outstanding professional achievement upon her retirement from the City of Madison Board of Education.

Mrs. Spears was appointed to the City of Madison Board of Education in 2009 and served on Safety and Security, Special Education, Capital Plan, Finance, and Policy committees.

Served as Legislative Liaison for the City of Madison Board of Education and worked with the Alabama Association of School Boards on K-12 public education legislation; held multiple AASB committee positions including AASB Region Nine Director from March 2016 to December 2018.

Earned degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Auburn University and has been a full-time community volunteer since joining the Madison Community in 1984; member of the Military Child Education Coalition and Madison Hospital Women's Council.

House adopted the resolution on April 30, 2019, and the Senate adopted it on May 2, 2019.
