Commends Mrs. Connie Spears for outstanding professional achievement upon her retirement from the City of Madison Board of Education.

Mrs. Spears was appointed to the board in 2009 and served on the Safety and Security, Special Education, Capital Plan, Finance, and Policy committees.

Served as Legislative Liaison for the City of Madison Board of Education and worked with the Alabama Association of School Boards to advocate for K-12 public education legislation at local, state, and national levels.

Held leadership positions with AASB including service on Advocacy, Resolutions, Leader to Leader, and Federal Relations Network committees, and served as AASB Region Nine Director from March 2016 to December 2018.

Earned degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Auburn University and is an active community volunteer and member of the Military Child Education Coalition and Madison Hospital Women's Council.
