Recognizes Calhoun County Sheriff's Deputy Tyler Peck as a nominee for the 2019 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On August 17, 2018, at approximately 9:50 PM, Deputy Peck responded to a shots-fired call and located a severely wounded victim on the property.

Despite exposed position and poor visibility from rain and darkness, Deputy Peck applied a life-saving tourniquet to the victim's leg and continued providing lifesaving measures until backup and EMS arrived, resulting in the victim's survival.

Deputy Peck, age 22 and recently completed with field training, demonstrated immense courage, diligence, and commitment to protect and serve Calhoun County residents.

The legislature directs that Deputy Peck receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the state's admiration and esteem.
