Commends Mrs. Connie Spears on her retirement from the City of Madison Board of Education after outstanding professional achievement.

Mrs. Spears was appointed to the Board of Education in 2009 and served on Safety and Security, Special Education, Capital Plan, Finance, and Policy committees.

Served as Legislative Liaison for the City of Madison Board of Education and worked with the Alabama Association of School Boards to support K-12 public education legislation at local, state, and national levels.

Served on multiple AASB committees including Advocacy (2015-March 2019), Resolutions (2010-2012), Leader to Leader (2011-2014), and Federal Relations Network (2014-Present), and was AASB Region Nine Director from March 2016 to December 2018.

Holds degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Auburn University and is a charter member of Asbury United Methodist Church and member of the Military Child Education Coalition and Madison Hospital Women's Council.
