Trooper Huffman's quick action and attention to detail enabled Representative Gaston to reach the hospital where doctors determined he was moments away from suffering a fatal heart attack.

Trooper Huffman is a 19-year veteran of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) who is certified in various medical emergency procedures and scouted emergency facilities along the route.

Representative Gaston received lifesaving heart surgery at the Mobile hospital following Trooper Huffman's emergency transport.
