Commends Joseph Jacob VanLoock of Boy Scout Troop 1028 in Mobile, Alabama, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

VanLoock earned 38 merit badges during his scouting career, served in various leadership roles, hiked 50 miles of the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah National Park, and canoed over 50 miles in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota.

His Eagle Scout Project involved collecting, cleaning, and sorting over 40,000 donated Lego pieces into a home-built medical grade cart with two building tables and four chairs, which was donated to USA Women's and Children's Hospital.

VanLoock is an A Honor Roll sophomore at Saraland High School, jazz band member, accomplished pianist, and restores antique tractors and electronics; he plans to study Biomechanical Engineering with a focus on renewable energy development or pharmaceutical design.

The House of Representatives highly commends VanLoock for his outstanding achievement and outstanding character traits of trustworthiness, self-discipline, and good citizenship.
