Commends Susan Markham for 33 years of service at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, retiring as Director of Institutional Advancement.

Markham joined the library in 1986 as an Outreach Librarian and oversaw the opening of eight branches and expansion/renovation of seven branches during her tenure.

Established the Ready Reader Program and opened a library at the Neaves-Davis Center juvenile detention home in 1991 through a Library Services and Technology Act grant.

In 2015, promoted to Director of Institutional Advancement, where she oversaw opening of two new branches (Madison and Cavalry Hill) and fund-raising for three multimillion dollar capital campaigns.

House of Representatives extends commendations to Markham and dedicates this resolution to her in gratitude and admiration for her service and inspiration to many.
